We are facing an energy revolution. Join us in developing the smart power system of the future. This two-year masters programme in Electric Power Engineering provides you with knowledge and skills in planning, designing, and operating electrical power systems. You will learn to develop innovative solutions for the sustainable power systems of the future. Society depends on electricity. Cars, trains and ships are electrified, and consumers can produce electricity themselves. We expect electricity when we need electricity. This creates new challenges for the power system. The entire electrical infrastructure must be further developed and maintained for efficient and reliable energy supply. The future is green, electric, and digital. Renewable energy will replace oil, coal, and gas to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. You will learn to develop innovative solutions for the sustainable power system of the future and design electrotechnical equipment for industry, energy supply, ships and railways. This will make you well-suited to work on current issues and technological challenges in the energy sector. The Masters thesis topics are linked to the research activities of the various research groups at the Department of Electric Power Engineering. All teaching is conducted in English. The programme consists of about 25 students, a mix of Norwegian and international students, making it a small but closely-knit community. After a masters degree, you can pursue a PhD programme.
