Master's Programme in Mechatronics

Then you will probably enjoy the Master's Programme in Mechatronics. What will you learn? The Master's Programme in Mechatronics addresses integration of mechanical engineering, instrumentation engineering, hydraulic and electric drive and industrial IT. You learn to use your knowledge about the interactions between these disciplines working with design and manufacture of products and processes. A crucial aspect of the education involves mastering the ability to effectively simulate machines and processes. Hence, there's active emphasis on establishing the mathematical groundwork to autonomously set up simulations and utilize commercial software for modeling. These simulations are integral in the design and analysis of mechatronic systems. Two mandatory courses and two electives The third semester consists of two mandatory courses and two electives. Students have the freedom to choose from the offered electives as outlined in the curriculum above. The content from the elective courses is integrated into the compulsory project course. The electives offer the opportunity to specialize in artificial intelligence and machine learning, robotics, biomechatronics, programming, and mechanical design.

• The admission requirement is a completed and passed three-year bachelor's degree in engineering, within the areas mechatronics, mechanical engineering, electronics and electrical engineering or renewable energy, in line with the National Curriculum Regulations for Engineering Education in Norway. Furthermore, the following requirements are set, which in part go beyond the minimum requirements in the national curriculum regulations: At least 25 credits in relevant mathematics At least 5 credits in statistics At least 7.5 credits in physics The weighted average grade of C or better is required. Admission takes place in accordance with regulations on admission to studies and courses at the University of Agder.
