Master’s Programme in Cybersecurity Management

Cybersecurity is an increasing challenge in society and requires increasingly versatile security experts. The master’s programme in Cybersecurity Management provides you with practical and theoretical knowledge, as well as methodological skills to implement and manage security measures in organisations both nationally and internationally. Digitalisation of organisations and societies gives rise to significant new and evermore complex cybersecurity challenges and opportunities. For organisations, it is important to find a balance between cybersecurity and innovation to achieve business goals and remain competitive in the market. While technology plays a crucial role in securing the assets of businesses, technology alone cannot solve today's cybersecurity challenges. Instead, cybersecurity must be approached holistically to address the complexity in a responsible and ethical manner. Cybersecurity is built on the management and governance of people, processes, and technology, as well as on a strong cybersecurity culture. It requires versatile security experts who know how to navigate within the legal and ethical frameworks. The University of Agder offers a unique and sought-after study programme specialising in cybersecurity management. The programme equips students with practical and theoretical knowledge, and methodological skills to plan, implement and manage cybersecurity in private and public organisations. The study is a campus-based full-time program that requires attendance in educational activities. International students are admitted to this study programme. What will you learn? You will get a solid understanding of the role that cybersecurity plays in a contemporary digitally enabled world and how cybersecurity can contribute to making a more secure and better digital future. The programme includes research-based teaching that is founded on international high-quality research and on practical examples and case studies derived from the industry. You will also have the possibility to learn about cybersecurity management through a hands-on internship. Internship is offered as an elective and requires separate admission.

• Non-EU/EEA international applicants: From 1 November to 1 December. EU/EEA applicants: From 1 February to 1 March. Nordic citizens and applicants with a permanent or renewable residence permit in Norway: From 1 February to 15 April. Applicants to the programme must have at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent education of at least 180 ECTS credits. In addition to the bachelor's degree, the following requirements apply: Either: a specialisation course of at least 80 ECTS credits in information systems (IS), information and communication technology (ICT), computer science, economics and management, or organisation and leadership. Applicants with a specialisation in economics and management or organisation and leadership must have at least 30 ECTS credits in IS/ICT. Or: an integrated study programme of at least 2 years in the same areas of study and with the same requirements as in point 1. A weighted average grade of C or better is required. Admission is based on the regulations for admission to studies and courses at the University of Agder.
